The Head Of Product For Linkedin Deep Nishar Announces Departure

By Hajj Isa

Deep Nishar an Indian-born graduate who came over to America in order to work with Google has earned deep respect within the industry for his work. He came to Linkedin (from Google) six years ago and turned things on its head with his work. The company at that time had a community of around 30 million users, but now it boasts of over 300 million users and this number is still growing. This demonstrates the level of work, Deep Nishar has done for the company since coming on board.

It is hard to say how much will change but with any company, something like this means there will be some changes. It might take some time for the company to figure out what they will do in regards to his position. They will need to hire someone else and that will also change the company a little bit.

Nishar's last day with LinkedIn will be October 3rd. He will be handing over the oversight for the product to the company's CEO, Jeff Weiner. Jeff has been with LinkedIn for almost as long as Nishar, having joined LinkedIn from Yahoo. Nishar issued a statement of his own, saying that he is passionate about building and leading companies which have the potential to make a significant positive impact on the world. He hopes that he will have the opportunity to do the same thing again at his next company.

What will he be doing in the near future? He has decided to take up an advisory role for now with the company just to keep up with things. He will not be doing any heavy lifting and will most like move onto another challenge down the road. He is enjoying life for the moment and reaping the rewards of all the work he has done for both Google and Linkedin.

Nishar plans to continue to have a relationship with LinkedIn even after his official departure, and has agreed to serve in an advisory capacity to help Jeff as he takes over the product management at the company. However, he is confident that the company is in a good place and that Jeff's leadership will be a success.

Deep Nishar, LinkedIn's head of products and user experience has announced that he will be leaving the company as of October 3rd, having spent six years working with the popular professional networking site. Nishar came to the website from Google, where he previously worked in a similar product-focused capacity. Nishar says that he is looking forward to having the opportunity to help another vibrant young company grow in the way that he grew Google and LinkedIn.
